Our first- fully finished room in our new house is our lovely guest bedroom. It has a mix of country and modern feel, making it a super cosy bedroom.

Colour Scheme Used

Soft Furnishings
These aren’t colours I would usually go for, but both, James & I, fell in love with the duvet cover from Dunelm- Dorma Emalia Duck Egg. Unfortunately they no longer sell anything from the Duck Egg Range, but they have got a Blush one – link here.
From the same Emalia Duck Egg range we got Pillow cases & curtains. As for the scatter cushions I re-used old ones, just changed the cover to a dark purple to keep within the colour scheme.
For curtain holdbacks we are using Dunelm Satin Steel finish Small Ball Holdbacks – link here. We are using these throughout the house to keep it consistent.
Accessories
The 2 prints above the bed are quite old ones (from James’ grandparents), we used to have in our bedroom at our old house, but they are a perfect fit for our cosy bedroom. We did have to change the frames to nice oak effect ones, which resulted in the need to slightly cutting the prints down to fit in the frames. Frames were from Dunelm – Essential Photo Frame, only £7 per frame- link here.

The bedside lamps are from NEXT from their Barnaby Bear collection – link here. I have fallen in LOVE with these bears and have more accessories from this collection in our family bathroom (post to follow).

Ceiling lamp shade we used in this room is from B&Q- Colours Trio range in duck egg blue, but looking at the website they don’t have these online, same style- different colour- link here.
Furniture
Our two bedside tables are from Ikea Malm 2 drawer Chest – link here.
The bed itself is our old bed, that we are re-using. It is a storage bed with a couple of drawers, that we are using for bedding and towels.
By the bedside on the right side I also have a floor standing mirror leaning against the wall.
Finishing Touches
No room in our house is complete without a candle or two… or three. So I added a little one from NEXT Collection pack that I bough a while ago in a NEXT sale (who doesn’t love a bargain?).
Together with candles- I also have air reed defusers in all the rooms. At the moment my favourite ones are from Wax Lyrical- I get mine from Dunelm.
Since moving in our new house and having more space, I have become more obsess with plants and becoming a plant mum. I absolutely love this little Plant Lady pot (from NEXT) with a small snake plant (from M&S).
The last, but not least- we have a white IKEA picture frame with our WiFi name and password. Since we all like to be online we thought this is a nice touch to add.
